WP10 - Crew preparation and training
As part of this work package, you will have to design a preparation and training programme for the crews of a vehicle dedicated to commercial suborbital flights (type 1 vehicle) or space flights (type 2 vehicle). The main objective is to ensure that the crews are ready to accompany passengers with diverse profiles in terms of travel objectives and skills. It is imperative that crews provide a quality service, guaranteeing both the comfort and safety of passengers throughout the flight.
The first step of the study consists in choosing the vehicle you will work on: either 1- suborbital vehicle for high-speed long-range transportation or 2- vehicle servicing LEO destinations). You will then perform the following tasks:
- You will design a comprehensive training programme for crew members, including training in procedures for managing contingency situations such as fire propagation or other critical in-flight incidents and training in communications with ground crews,
- You will draw up a list of the facilities and equipment required for crew training, including simulators, safety devices and any other relevant equipment,
- You will estimate the duration of the training programme, including the various steps and assessments. You will draw up a detailed timetable for the different phases of training.
Your work should not be a copy of what ESA, NASA or other organisations are proposing, but you can take inspiration from them.
